Paddling the Pacific. Signed first edition. First edition, 1992. Signed to the title page by the author with a dedication. Hardback. 541pp followed by 4 pages of maps. Dust jacket. It began as a publicity tour and ended up in the wilderness. At a time of sadness in his life, Paul Theroux decided to travel through the Pacific from island to island, under sunny skies. For once he did not travel light; he brought camping equipment andna collaspible kayak to paddle around the islands sampling each surfy coast and blue lagoon. The book starts with a resigned separation in London and ends with a kiss on an exotic island. It is a journey in space and time, discovering a new world, but most of all, a discovery of happiness. Book in very good condition. A little spotting, mostly confined to text block edges. Dust jacket very good. Unclipped. Very minor edge wear. Spine slightly discoloured. This is a heavy back but no additional postage to UK post codes.
