Macmillan & Co Ltd, London, 1948. First edition. Book condition: good. Yellow pictorial boards clean. Some shelf wear around the edges and corners a littel bumped. A little dust soiling and light spotting to text block edges. Endpapers a little spotted (mainly front). Gift inscription to ffep. Internally clean and unmarked. Dust jacket condition: fair. Unclipped. Generally rubbed and a little soiled, some chipping to head & tail of spine and corners. Closed tear to upper edge of front and to rear. tape reinforcements to rear of jacket. A childish hand has imitated Enid Blyton's signature to rear of front flap. Jacket in a protective sleeve. A very serviceable copy. This is the fourth story in the Adventure series, and tells how Jack, Philip, Lucy-Ann, Dinah and Kiki the parot, go off for a holiday together, with their old friend Bill Smugs. Bill is in danger from his enemies and needs to 'disappear' for a while. And, of course, they all sail straight into adventure.
