Top edge gilt. Internally the book is very clean and free of marks. Some light tanning to free end papers and the rough-cut edges of the untrimmed text block are typically marked. Black & white decorations by Frederick Carter. Preface by Professor Allardyce Nicoll and lengthy introduction to the works of Tourneur, a remarkable English dramatist (1575 - 1626) whose most famous work is probably The Revenger's Tragedy (sometimes attributed to Thomas Middleton). Book condition: good. Some bumping to corners and a little shelf wear to head & tail of spine. Occasional small mark to green boards. Light toning to free endpapers. Previous owner's book plate to front paste down.
