The Fanfrolico Press, London, 1929. Limited edition of 750 of which this is no 108. 8vo. ix, 344pp. Gilt decoration to front and to spine bright. Previous owner's printed palte to front paste down. Top edge gilt. Internally the book is very clean and free of marks. Some light tanning to free end papers and the rough-cut edges of the untrimmed text block are typically marked. Black & white decorations by Frederick Carter. Preface by Professor Allardyce Nicoll and lengthy introduction to the works of Tourneur, a remarkable English dramatist (1575 - 1626) whose most famous work is probably The Revenger's Tragedy (sometimes attributed to Thomas Middleton). Book condition: good. Some bumping to corners and a little shelf wear to head & tail of spine. Occasional small mark to green boards. Light toning to free endpapers. Previous owner's book plate to front paste down.
