The Fanfrolico Press, London, 1929. Limited edition of 750 of which this is no 121. 8vo. ix, 344pp. Gilt decoration to front and to spine bright. Previous owner's printed palte to front paste down. Top edge gilt. Internally the book is very clean and free of marks. Some light tanning to free end papers and the rough-cut edges of the untrimmed text block are typically marked. Black & white decorations by Frederick Carter. Preface by Professor Allardyce Nicoll and lengthy introduction to the works of Tourneur, a remarkable English dramatist (1575 - 1626) whose most famous work is probably The Revenger's Tragedy (sometimes attributed to Thomas Middleton). Book condition:good. Occasional small mark to green boards. A little toning to free endpapers. This is an ex-library copy and has several small blue ink stamps of Hereford Public Library (mostly to lower page margins) and a Dewey ref. number to spine. It does appear that this was a reference copy and thus the book has escaped the indignities of being a lending copy.
