Willow Books, London, 1987. First edition. Book condition: very good. Very slight roll to the spine and some light tanning to the paper. Free of bumping & shelf wear. Dust jacket condition: good & unclipped. A little shelf wear around the edges with some light chipping at the vulnerable points. Two small closed tears to rear and section of jacket between the tears has creased. Ted Croker was General Secretary of the FA from 1973 and was responsible for shaping FA policy in response to such disasters as the Bradford City fire and the Heysel Stadium riot. He also witnessed the committee room dramas of 1974 when Sir Alf Ramsay was sacked as England team manager, he was also responsible for handling the FA's court case against Don Revie when he quit the same job three years later. In this book he talks about all aspects of the game - strong sentiments and some surprising revelations are mixed with personal & perceptive observations from one who enjoyed a priveleged position at the heart of English football.
