Michael Joseph, London, 1979. First edition. Hardback. 176pp. Dust jacket in a protective sleeve. When 'BB' finished teaching art at Rugby School, he lived on a large Northamptonshire estate for fourteen years. This was a happy, carefree time when he was able to enjoy to the full his love of fishing, shooting and natural history. He tells of the beautiful lake which he stocked with carp and trout, and of the broken-down boat which he mended. He describes with great feeling the quiet evenings he spent among the reed beds and waterlilies fishing for carp. Following the enormous success of his previous book, A Child Alone, this is an unmissable book for all lovers of 'BB' and the illustrations of D.J. Watkins-Pitchford. Black & white illustrations by BB. Book condition: very good. Minimal shelf wear with a couple of very small areas of wear to lower edges. Some sporadic and quite minor spotting. Dust jacket: very good. Unclipped. Generally lightly soiled and rubbed. A little light edge wear with some chipping to corners.
