With a foreword by Humphrey Lyttelton First edition, 2002. Hardback. 162pp. Brown cloth with gilt to upper board and spine. Dustjacket in a protective sleeve. Endpapers with facsimile ms pages. George Lyttelton taught English literature at Eton, at first unofficially, then during the inter-war years as an optional subject. By all accounts his classes were a delight. Lyttelton is well reflected in his Commonplace Book. Hereto are his fine memoir of Charles Fisher, killed at the battle of Jutland, and a group of previously unpublished letters between GWL and Rupert Hart-Davis, the prelude to their celebrated correspondence. Book in near fine condition. Dust jacket also near fine and unclipped. Very light edge wear only.
