The Molendinar Press, Glasgow, 1981. First edition. Book condition: fine with virtually no sign of use. Dust jacket condition: fine. Just the merest shelf wear to the head & tail of the spine and to the edges. Some very slight discolouration - mainly to the flaps of the jacket. This is the marvelous autobiography of Lady Fairfax-Lucy. She was the youngest of eight children, born in 1895. She was brought up on the family estates on the Island of Mull where her father's house overlooked the white sands of Calgary Bay. This book takes us back to the time before motor cars when the horse reigned supreme. In this disarmingly unaffected book, Lady Fairfax-Lucy captures her early days with the unerring eye of a natural writer. The book ends with the ending of the first world war during which she served as a nurse. The book is beautifully illustrated by Mary Clare Foa.
