Frederick Warne and Co, London, undated but circa 1900. Book condition: good. A little shelf wear, corneres slightly bumped and head & tail of spine slightly worn. Decorated front board and spine still quite bright. Front hinge weak but text block sound. Previous owner's stamp to ffep and to half-title. First and final pages somewhat tanned. Just a little light spotting to text block edges. Pages clean. The book begins (humorously) as it means to go on with several quoted definitions of a Dedication followed by similar treatment of Preface - eg Preface - The Beauty of a: A Preface, being the entrance of a book, should invite by its beauty. An elegant porch announces the splendour of the interior. (Disraeli). Endless fun and amusement - it could almost have been compiled by George & Weedon Grossmith.
