John Murray, London, 1989. First edition. Book condition: very good. Minor wear only. Very clean and unmarked internally. Dust jacket: very good. Unclipped and with just a little light edge wear and a small area of marking to internal surface. An attractive book that deals with the type of game that the average cook is likely to come across, and gives a range of recipes for each. The game birds covered are: grouse, partridge, pheasant, quail, pigeon, snipe, woodcock and wild duck. The animals covered are: venison, boar, rabbit and hare and the fish: salmon, trout, perch, pike, shark and swordfish. There are also chapters on pates, pies and puddings, sauces, stocks and soups. A very practical and useful book with delightful illustrations by Dorothy Moir.
