All three volumes appear to have been bound at the same time and the bindings are in near fine condition. All three have the printed bookplate of Eric Gerald Stanley to the front pastedowns. Eric Stanley was Rawlinson & Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford. The original soft covers of The Aelfric Society publications are a little soiled but all in good condition and appear to have once been the property of Ely Cathedral and there are some neat stamps saying "sold by order of the Dean and Chapter" to the versos of the original soft covers. Volume three has loose gathering (pp 81 - 96), otherwise all pages are present in all volumes and secure. There is a little spotting to the prelims of each of the publications and there is a small number light pencil notes and underlinings.
