The Fleece Press, Upper Denby, 2005. Limited edition of 750 this being one of the hundred housed in a solander box accompanied by four copper engravings printed by Tony Dyson at his Black Star Press, which are held in a separate sleeve. Book condition: Fine. There is a loosely inserted handwritten note from Simon Lawrence (addressed to 'Dear Ken' and thanking him for his hard work - I assume this to be Ken Smith of Smith Settle, Otley). This note seeks to explain the faint handling marks on some of the sheets. Simon Lawrence believes these to be attributable to the stitcher when the sheets were fed in. Simon Lawrence is seeking Ken's views on this theory. The note is dated 29th September 2005. The book was bound for Simon Lawrence by Smith Settle and is quarter cloth with a patterned paper adapted, in reduced form, from Edward Bawden's Pigeon and Clocktower pattern. The book was published to coincide with the 25th anniversary of The Fleece Press. The solander box and the separate copper engravings are also in fine condition. The book is lavishly illustrated and the expert text is by Malcolm Yorke. A fabulously produced book. It is a large and heavy book but no additional shipping costs to UK destinations.
